Role Overview
This position supports Council's direction by undertaking a range of labouring, plant operation and truck driving tasks as part of a multi-disciplined team that is responsible for the maintenance of Council's infrastructure assets in accordance with recognised standards.
Responsibilities
* Operate plant, vehicles, equipment and tools competently and proficiently.
* Perform labouring tasks including heavy lifting, bending and general construction duties.
* Maintain harmony within a team and foster positive relationships with Council employees and members of the public.
* Work under general supervision.
* Operate and maintain light plant and equipment efficiently to deliver Council's work program.
* Ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
* Identify improvements to work practices in line with Council's continuous improvement commitment.
Qualifications
* Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence, current and maintained.
* Construction Industry White/Blue card.
* Current and maintained licences in operation of plant and equipment.
Desirable Knowledge/Skills
* Knowledge of civil construction and maintenance activities.
* Concrete and formwork experience.
* Queensland 'MR' licence or above, current and maintained.
