We're on the hunt for a Head Chef to take charge of the kitchen in our brand-new venue, The Ballpark Kotara, opening mid-October 2025 This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and put your stamp on Newcastle's newest American-inspired sports bar and entertainment destination.
At The Ballpark, we're all about big hits, cold beers, and food that keeps the good times rolling — think classic pizzas, stacked burgers, crispy wings, and all the sides you'd expect at a great American bar. Now, we need the right chef to bring it all to life.
What we're looking for:
We want a kitchen leader who's not just comfortable in the chaos, but thrives in organisation — someone who can:
* Open a brand-new kitchen from scratch (exciting, right?)
* Source suppliers and build strong local connections
* Create and deliver a menu of simple American classics that's consistent, fast, and crowd-pleasing
* Develop a food safety program and ensure top-notch standards
* Hold an NSW Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
* Build and lead a passionate kitchen crew with a focus on culture, consistency, and hitting our KPIs
* Think commercially — you'll have a say in food costs, margins, and making sure our kitchen is a strong performer
