Job Description
Universal Brotherhood Pty Ltd Full time Chef We are looking for a qualified and passionate professional chef for our daily operations at 1/79 Emu Bank Belconnen, ACT 2617. The position is full time minimum 38 hours per week. You may be required to work extra hours depending on occasions or bookings as the restaurant opens 7 days a week.
Benefits Full-time, regular hours Attractive salary for the right candidate Task & responsibilities Managing operations of kitchen. Supervising and monitoring food preparation at all stages of cooking to ensure dish quality. Preparation, delivery and execution of food for retail and functions.
Ensure kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are maintained as per health and hygienic standards. Preparing specialty food as per customer cultural requirement, restaurant specials and dietary requirements. Planning menus and work on daily specials in coordination with the restaurant manager incorporating seasonal and customer-driven ideas.
Estimate food and labour costs; Managing budgets and cost controls. Managing ordering and storage of food to reduce wastage. Selection and training of staff.
Communicating with regular patrons and new customers about their taste, likes, expectations, feedback about food quality and suggestions about improvement. Working with management for the improvement of efficiency, quality and productivity of food. Qualification & experience
The successful candidate will possess: Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or other relevant qualifications Minimum 12 months work experience as chef, preferably in a fast-paced environment Supervisory skills Confident approach and results driven Flexibility with hours and approach Excellent attention to detail.
