Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to the Group's marketing, brand, external and internal affairs, communications and sustainability.
This role works within the Retail Banking Services' (RBS) Corporate Affairs team to help manage the reputation of RBS and CBA. The team supports the Group Executive RBS and their leadership team with communications counsel and tactical support to deliver engaging internal and external communications. This work helps the bank deliver on its strategy and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
**Do work that matters**
As a Communications Manager, you will contribute to delivering strategies and plans to support corporate affairs and RBS strategic priorities, as well as supporting CBA's marketing campaigns and initiatives.
You will contribute to the creation of compelling narratives, proactive communication campaigns and strategies that support CBA and RBS. You will also work as part of the team on proactive, reactive and issues-based communications that could affect CBA's reputation. You are keen to learn and develop as part of a leading corporate affairs team.
**Your key responsibilities**:
- Ongoing contribution to corporate affairs issues and proactive communication opportunities, and coordination of response and actions across RBS, and in collaboration with marketing and other corporate affairs teams.
- Offering creative input for the appropriate use of media, channels, content and strategies to ensure CBA's reputation is protected and enhanced.
- Creation of frameworks for engagement of multiple stakeholders (government, industry and regulatory) by individuals and business units including strategic, scheduling, briefing and information sharing.
- Developing and executing effective internal and external communications strategies that aligns with CBA's purpose - 'Building a brighter future for all'.
- Identify potential and actual risks and operating issues that may impact RBS and work with corporate affairs colleagues to manage the Business's strategic communications response accordingly.

- Demonstrated experience in corporate affairs, communications, media or an agency role.
- Exceptional written communication skills, media relations experience and a keen interest in and knowledge of public affairs.
- The ability to think strategically, take initiative and have solid experience planning, delivering and measuring internal and external communication plans. You also thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in the delivery of digital assets to support both internal and external communication campaigns and have a strong knowledge of emerging communications channels.
- Experience in financial services will be highly regarded, as will a track record of working in large, complex organisations. You will need knowledge and experience in dealing with trade and consumer media and have some issues management skills.
