NDIS Billing Officer - Part time 24 hours per week

About the role:
The NDIS Billing Officer will be responsible for claiming the NDIS and other support funding for our participants' support needs. You will work in a dynamic team, supported by an experienced Finance Manager, to process funding claims effectively. Key to this role is being methodical and proactive in organizing the required information and submitting it in a timely manner, in coordination with the finance and support teams, to ensure all deadlines are met.
This is a 10-month contract providing maternity cover. The role offers a hybrid working model, blending remote flexibility with in-office collaboration to empower you to excel whether working from home or in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing claims for participant services using our internal billing system and Xero.
* Generating and uploading bulk claims to the NDIA Portal.
* Liaising with Plan Managers to ensure timely receipt of payments.
* Monitoring NDIS and accounts emails and actioning enquiries.
* Tracking client service use against service agreements.
* Managing fortnightly invoicing for board and lodgings and following up as needed.
* Reconciliation and follow-up of accounts receivable balances.
* Assisting with daily bank reconciliations.
* Supporting month-end billing processing tasks.

Do you have?
* Proficiency in accounting software, with experience in Xero advantageous but not essential.
* Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience.
* A strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

* The ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
* Excellent computer and spreadsheet skills.
* Strong time management and prioritization skills.
* High initiative and problem-solving abilities.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* An understanding of NDIS billing and quoting systems is desirable but not necessary.
