Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Government Relations Strategist to oversee projects that integrate expertise from strategic communications, capacity building and public policy to deliver outcomes for our clients. This role is for a leading advisory firm within the government space.
Key Responsibilities
* Based in either Bahrain or Riyadh, work closely with government entities and officials to advise on and deliver communications programs for government projects.
* Provide strategic counsel and develop communications strategies.
* Handle crisis communications.
* Lead medium to large size projects for government entities and develop and implement supporting strategies, policies and plans.
* Structure and deliver communications programmes.
* Manage ambiguity in objectives, stakeholders, constraints, etc.
* Adapt and apply models and tools to solve client problems.
* Synthesize complex data into concise and compelling presentations.
* Manage with authority mid to senior level government officials.
Requirements
* Extensive experience working with government clients.
* Managed projects from start to finish, with a clear plan and structured workstreams.
* Commissioned and integrated analysis from colleagues.
* Managed/oversaw the communications workstream for large government projects, with successful communications at key moments (e.g., launch, business milestones).
* Developed solutions based on the needs and importance of different stakeholder groups.
* Provided reputational counsel to clients facing a crisis.
* Led and developed staff.
* Awareness of domestic, regional and global current affairs.
