Reliability Engineer - Mechanical

As an experienced
Reliability Engineer Mechanical
, this role provides you with the opportunity to utilise your reliability expertise to optimise performance across a diverse range of assets. You'll be embedded within our client's team in Perth, working one-on-one to facilitate risk assessments and develop maintenance strategies.
While this begins as a 3-month contract to meet immediate project needs, there is a strong potential for this to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate as our client looks to secure a long-term team member.

* Risk & Strategy: Facilitate risk assessments and develop robust maintenance strategies to ensure asset integrity.
* Data-Driven Insights: Use statistics and data modelling to interpret trends, focusing on key metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and OEE.
* Reliability Toolkit: Apply advanced tools including FMECA, RCA, and Fault Tree/Herringbone analysis to solve complex mechanical issues.
* Real-World Impact: Work within a project management structure where you don't just "consult"—you see the products of your work realised in the field.

What You Bring

* Knowledge: Undergraduate qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
* Skills: Risk fundamentals - a solid understanding of risk including how to facilitate risk assessments.
* Assets: Significant reliability experience in mechanical and rotating equipment environments (Manufacturing plant, Terminal operations, Some mining processing plants, Large mining equipment).
* Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in reliability fundamentals (maintenance strategy development, statistics and data modelling, reporting & analysis, and Reliability tools (FMECA, RCA, Fault Tree/Herringbone Analysis or similar fault-finding processes).
* Safety Focus: A non-negotiable commitment to safety in every aspect of your engineering practice.
* Mindset: You are a safety-focused problem solver who thrives in collaborative teams, bringing a project-oriented approach to seeing your work through to completion and—ideally—the perspective of having previously been a 'customer' of reliability engineering outputs yourself.
* Facilitation: You will know how to get the most and the best from those you're working with. Collaboration and facilitation are key to the success of the Reliability Engineers role.
* Nice to have: If you currently or have held a MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card) please mention this in your application.

Position Details

* Location: North Fremantle, WA.
* Duration: Initial 3-month contract with a view to permanency for the right candidate.
* Hours: 40 hours per week nominal.
* Hourly rate: $75-$100 per hour plus GST (dependant on what you can bring to this role).
