About the Role
This traineeship is ideal for someone looking to build a career in the printing industry. You'll work closely with our experienced HP Digital press operator, learning how to run and maintain a high-speed digital printing press. Over time, you'll gain the skills and confidence to operate the press independently. The role is based in Kilsyth VIC; initially working Monday to Wednesday (12-hr shifts 6am to 6pm) for focused training and then moving to Thursday to Saturday permanent shift (Saturday paid at double time).
Key Responsibilities
* Learn to become an HP printer to produce daily print jobs and work flexibly to perform a wide range of duties including machine set-up, making jobs ready, material preparation and general housekeeping.
* Prepare materials and load the press.
* Monitor print quality, report issues, and support minor maintenance tasks and troubleshooting.
* Clean and maintain press equipment.
* Form a trusting bond with the printers and manufacturing team and communicate effectively across multiple work groups.
* Progress towards independently running the press.
* Contribute to all steps in our production process and practices including quality, safety, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) housekeeping and environmental control measures.
