Pacific Marine Group is a leading provider of Marine Contracting and Commercial Diving services across Northern Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific. We are currently seeking reliable, motivated Labourers / Trade Assistants to join our team at Mackay Shipyard.
Our shipyard has been servicing the Mackay and Whitsunday regions for over 20 years, offering a range of services from vessel repairs to marine maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a company committed to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
* Assist tradesmen with various shipyard operations including steel and pipe work, hull repairs, and mechanical tasks
* Perform high pressure water wash-down, abrasive blasting, and ultra-high pressure water blasting
* Assist with painting, antifouling application, and surface preparation
* General labour duties including site cleaning, material handling, and equipment preparation
* Provide support for underwater services, including repairs and class surveys
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
* Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the marine or construction industry (not mandatory but preferred)
* Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
* Strong work ethic and a high level of physical fitness
* Valid Driver's License
* Commitment to safety and following all workplace safety procedures
* Willingness to learn and develop skills in the marine industry
Desirable Attributes:
* Experience with abrasive blasting, painting, or ship repairs
* Forklift and/or crane operator license (advantageous but not required)
