We make use of the latest security technology with an increasing focus on automation and analytics to secure and support ASIC on its journey to be a 'best in class regulator supporting the Australian financial markets.The roleAs a Cyber Security Architect (SOC), you will support the design, implementation, integration, and oversight of security solutions across cloud and hybrid environments, with a focus on enabling secure business operations. You will also collaborate with other architecture teams to ensure alignment with enterprise security standards and contribute to broader cybersecurity initiatives.More specifically, you will:Act as a customer-facing technical specialist, managing security architecture requests and assessments with network, firewall, development, and business teams.Define security controls and operational protocols to protect cloud-hosted environments from misuse or unauthorized changes.Assess the effectiveness of security controls to identify gaps, vulnerabilities, and potential attack vectors.Evaluate hosted environments against ACSC ISM and industry-standard cloud security frameworks.Collaborate with IT operations and application teams to advise on security-related service and change requests.Support senior security architects in enhancing controls across existing platforms and services.Coordinate threat modelling and architecture reviews to validate the completeness of security controls.Contribute to the development of cybersecurity architecture principles, patterns, roadmaps, and frameworks.Facilitate the onboarding of technology services and solutions into secure environments.Create and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including solution designs, assessments, and architectural artifacts.About youThe ideal candidate for the Cyber Security Architect (SOC) role is a motivated security engineer with hands-on experience in cloud and hybrid environments who ready to transition into an architectural role. They will possess a solid understanding of security operations, will be familiar with frameworks such as the ACSC ISM and can assess and enhance security controls. They will also be confident working across technical teams, contributing to secure solution design, threat modelling and the development of security standards and documentation.In addition, you will have:Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a cybersecurity engineering role, with demonstrated capability in designing secure solutions.Proven knowledge and experience in:Security engineering across networking, operating systems and cloud environments.Designing secure architectures for AWS or Azure in line with platform security standards and frameworks.Responding to security architecture service requests and implementing appropriate containment and resolution actions.Leading the implementation of secure architectures for endpoint security, internet gateways, IPS/IDS and network infrastructure.Collaborating with IT teams including network engineers, system administrators and security professionals.Strong understanding of enterprise-scale cloud and hybrid infrastructure security.High technical aptitude with a commitment to continuous learning and awareness of evolving security trends.Demonstrated ability to assess, analyse, and resolve complex security architecture queries.Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills.Proven experience working collaboratively within cross-functional project teams.Formal IT and security certifications are desirable but not essential.Click 'apply' to start your application.
