An exceptional chance awaits for an experienced freight forwarding professional to join the ranks of a highly successful logistics organisation, nestled in bustling Port Melbourne, amongst trendy cafes and restaurants.

From customs brokerage to transport and supply chain consulting, this trusted Australian owned and operated Freight Forwarder holds an extensive global network that services all types of international cargo and shipping requirements.

They are currently looking to add a Sales Support Executive to their team.

Reporting directly to the General Manger - Client Services, this role will be instrumental in forging close collaborations with the Sales department, as well as their Interstate offices, and agents across the globe.

Your primary responsibilities will be to fully support the Commercial Sales team with the following tasks but not limited to:

* Generate and follow up on sales leads to help book appointments
* Build sustainable relationships and trust with prospective customers.
* Meet personal/sales administration team targets.
* Liaise with Shipping and Airlines to generate quotations.
* Generate and provide quotations, and rates based on customer requirements
* Ensuring Cargowise system is kept up to date at all times, with relevant customer information and quotations
* Manage and obtain prospective customer information and relevant sales data
* Assist in tenders' preparation and sales presentations where required.
* Participate in weekly and monthly sales meetings
* Follow communication procedures, e-mail protocol and guidelines and policies.

This role suits an individual with a background in sales support, senior freight operations and or customer service with a high-end communication style.

Alternatively, this role would also suit those looking to develop a business development career in freight forwarding. But not essential.

* Experience in a high support role within a Sales department within freight forwarding services.
* Experience in the International logistics (Import or Export) / industry, is essential.
* Knowledge of ICOTERMS essential.
* Proficiency in advanced Excel preferred but not essential.
* Keen attention to detail is a must
* Experience with sales CRMs
* A sense of urgency
* A collaborative approach working within a team environment.
* Readiness to undertake additional tasks as necessary.
* Skillful task prioritization and exceptional organizational aptitude
