Remuneration: $116,892 - $120,680 per annum + 12% Super + Salary Packaging

About The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join the experienced Allied Health team at Belmont Hospital within Hunter New England Local Health District.

Belmont Hospital is a well-established teaching and community hospital, offering a dynamic and fast-paced acute care environment. With a strong focus on hands-on learning, mentorship and patient-centred care, the hospital provides excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression within a supportive clinical setting.

This role involves working across inpatient Occupational Therapy services, primarily within the sub-acute unit, with cross-cover provided to medical and surgical wards as required, based on clinical priorities. You will be supported by a Team Leader Occupational Therapist and will be part of a collaborative Allied Health team committed to delivering high-quality care.

What You'll Be Doing

Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and evidence-based interventions to inpatients in the sub-acute unit.
Provide cross-cover services to medical and surgical wards in response to service demands and clinical priorities.
Facilitate safe, effective, and patient-centred care to support recovery, discharge planning, and optimal functional outcomes.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and enhance patient flow.
Contribute to service delivery improvements and quality initiatives within the Allied Health Department.
Participate in supervision, mentorship and ongoing professional development activities.

About You

Qualified and registered Occupational Therapist with demonstrated experience in acute or sub-acute hospital settings.
Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centred care.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development.
A proactive approach to service delivery, quality improvement, and clinical excellence.
