Local Learning Network Officer - Night SchoolLocal Learning Network – Night School Program OfficerLocation: The Neighbourhood Hive & Hervey Bay Community CentreEmployment Type: Part-time (15 hours per week)Working Hours: 12pm–8pm (after-hours work is a core part of this role)Award Classification: SACS Award Level 3Reports to: Operations ManagerABOUT THE ROLEThis is an exciting new position created in direct response to community feedback – and it’s all about meeting people where they are, at the times that work for them.We’re looking for an energetic and community-minded Program Officer to lead the delivery of after-hours workshops and events through the Local Learning Network (LLN) initiative.Working from 12pm to 8pm, two days per week, you’ll be the driving force behind engaging, short-form workshops and learning sessions across Neighbourhood Collective sites. These events are designed to increase social connection, develop local skills, and open up pathways to employment and community participation – especially for those who can’t attend during typical business hours.Key responsibilities include:Coordinating and facilitating evening workshops and eventsRecruiting and supporting local volunteer educatorsBuilding partnerships with local businesses, community groups, and organisationsManaging workshop logistics, including bookings, catering, set-up and pack-downPromoting events via social media, website and printed materialsGathering community feedback and evaluating program outcomesABOUT YOUYou’re someone who understands the value of accessible, inclusive community learning – and you're excited to work outside the 9–5 to make it happen.With a background in events, education, training or community development, you’re confident in coordinating activities, building relationships, and supporting volunteers. You're also tech-savvy and comfortable creating simple promotional content.To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:Experience in community workshops, training, or events managementStrong administration and digital communication skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)Experience with volunteer recruitment and supportA knack for writing engaging content for flyers and social mediaA passion for inclusivity, connection, and community-driven learningExcellent time management and teamwork skillsA current C Class Driver’s LicenceAvailability from 12pm–8pm is essential, as this is when your impact will be made.ABOUT USThe Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) is a vibrant, community-first organisation that’s been supporting people across the Fraser Coast since 1989.
