We are seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to join our team at the renowned Unicorn Broadbeach Seafood Restaurant in Broadbeach, Queensland. As a full-time Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our kitchen and the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our customers.
Key responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day management and supervision of the kitchen staff
* Ensure the preparation and presentation of all menu items meet the highest standards of quality and consistency
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menu items, incorporating new techniques and seasonal ingredients
* Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
* Adhere to all food safety and health regulations
* Mentor and train kitchen staff to improve their skills and performance
* Assist with inventory management and cost control
What we're looking for
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel
* Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and menu development
* Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the kitchen staff
* Excellent time management, problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
* A passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and creating innovative, flavourful dishes
* Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
* Formal culinary training or qualifications in Hospitality or Culinary Arts
