**How will I help?**
The Head of Group Subsidiary Governance is responsible for leading a team of governance professionals in delivering best practice governance advice and secretariat support to Westpac's Wealth and Group subsidiaries, and for providing secretariat services to Westpac as a listed entity.
**Some of your responsibilities include**:
- Leadership of the Group Subsidiary Governance team including developing: people capability; process improvement and automation; and effective use of IT systems
- Overseeing the provision of best practice secretariat services to the Group's subsidiaries (regulated and non-regulated).
- Overseeing Westpac's announcements to the ASX and regulatory filings and lodgements for Westpac and its subsidiaries.
- Providing high quality governance advice to Westpac's subsidiary non-executive and executive directors and to senior executives in Westpac.
- Leading strategic initiatives for the optimisation of subsidiaries within Westpac to provide good governance and support delivery of business strategy.
- Cultivate a positive team culture by role modelling Westpac's values. Managing the risk, compliance and operational aspects of the role.

**What do I need?**
- Minimum 10 years' experience in company secretariat/governance or corporate legal fields.
- Strong ability to advise and influence at senior levels, including senior executives and board directors.
- Demonstrated capability to lead a team in providing company secretariat/governance or corporate legal services and advice, or strategic advisory capability in governance or corporate legal services at a senior level.
- Experience and strong knowledge of governance areas including as relating to ASX Listing rules, subsidiary governance and company corporate actions.
- A passion for developing people and providing pathways for professional growth and progression. An active interest in risk culture and building awareness and focus on good governance across the organisation.
