About the role
Applications are invited for a Food and Beverage Technician within the Affinity Labs Project Team.
In this appointment, you will work closely with producers and suppliers, providing technical support, consulting services, and small-scale production services.
This role provides hands-on support for a diverse range of projects, both in the laboratory and the field. Examples may include product formulation and benchmarking of beverage packaging materials and additives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Planning, executing, and reporting on project activities
* Supporting sensory and analytical methods in collaboration with our Sensory team
* Delivering technical input into analytical, microbiology, and bioscience projects
* Managing experimental design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of results
* Providing high-quality communication and service to clients and stakeholders
* Upholding food safety, WHS, and AWRI project management standards

About you
To be successful, you will bring:
* A Bachelor's degree in Food Science (or similar – essential)
* Qualifications/experience in food & beverage biological and aseptic techniques, plus sensory analysis methods (highly desirable)
* Experience in food & beverage production, development, or QA (desirable)
* Knowledge of microbiological analysis methods & food safety regulations (beneficial)
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team
