Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced laboratory professional to join our team as a Laboratory Technician.
This role involves performing sampling, sample preparation, testing, and reporting of soil and tailings samples from global projects under guidance from the Laboratory Manager.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of soil and tailings samples.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing activities.
* Prepare and submit high-quality testing reports for review and approval.
* Operate, calibrate, and conduct routine maintenance of test equipment.
* Collaborate with Engineers/Project Team to complete day-to-day duties and operations.
* Evaluate and report hazards, near misses, and incidents in accordance with WSP health, safety, and environment policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent.
* A current Australian driver's license.
* Previous experience working in a testing laboratory would be an advantage.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of laboratory and field testing of soil and tailings materials to recognised global standards (AS/ASTM/ISO).
* Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to work diligently in tasks.
* The ability to work safely and foster a positive health and safety culture.
* Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
