Aboriginal Senior Mental Health Clinician - Head to Health Kids Hub
Child & Family Youth Services Directorate
About The Role
New service. New team. New approach.
You’re invited to take a lead role.
The Head to Health Kids Hub is a new community-based service providing mental health and wellbeing support for children up to the age of 12 years with mild to moderate emotional, behaviour and mental health challenges, and their family. This new service is part of a nation-wide roll out of Kids Hubs jointly funded by NSW Health and the Australian Government.
Located in Orange with satellite services in Bathurst, we’ll be using flexible and creative approaches to increase the well-being and functioning of our clients, guided by a new model of care within a multidisciplinary framework.
As an Aboriginal Senior Mental Health Clinician at the Head to Health Kids Hub, you’ll use your clinical and cultural skills to complete detailed assessments, case formulation and deliver treatment programs, for a range of behavioural, emotional, psychosocial and health problems, prioritising our Aboriginal clients and their families.
You’ll take a child centred approach but will extend your scope to focus on the families and carers of our clients to contribute a truly wholistic health service in our community.
You’ll provide perspective and guidance to the multidisciplinary team to help ensure that our practice is culturally responsive and safe, and play an active role in coordinating services for our Aboriginal clients within the Hub and with external service providers.
At Head to Health Kids Hub you’ll be providing high-quality clinical services, and will also contribute to shaping the future direction of a new and dynamic service, and building capacity within the Hub and in the community to enhance supports for children and families.
This is a temporarily funded position until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
