About the Role
As a Senior SAP Finance Function Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and supporting SAP financial systems and integrations. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will lead configuration activities, implement system improvements, support complex integrations, and provide critical support for end‐of‐year financial processes. Your strategic insights and technical proficiency will help ensure compliance, optimise SAP finance operations, and support the overarching mission to deliver high‐quality health and aging services across the country. This hybrid role offers flexibility, with an onsite presence required three days per week in Canberra, ACT.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* 15+ years of hands‐on SAP Finance & Controlling expertise, including configuration, enhancements, and support across modules such as SAP FI, CO, Asset Accounting, AP/AR, GL/NewGL, Funds Management, and MM Finance
* Proven experience supporting End of Financial Year (EOFY) activities, system upgrades, and regression testing
* Strong background in managing SAP project systems, CATS, and controlling settlement processes
* Skilled in SAP Signavio for process mapping and continuous process improvement
* Expertise in integrating SAP with external systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP Concur, IBM Integration Bus, and SAP BTP Suite
* End‐to‐end support experience for SAP Concur modules and bespoke procurement applications
* Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
* Knowledge of SAP BTP capabilities, including Integration Suite and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), is desirable
Nice to Have Skills
* Experience working within government SAP environments or large enterprise systems
* Familiarity with Security and Data Privacy policies
* Experience with Azure DevOps, Test Automation, and Data Migration activities
* Knowledge of Committee Management Systems and HR/PA support functions within SAP
* Relevant SAP or project management certifications preferred
Preferred Education and Experience
* Relevant degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
* Extensive SAP finance domain experience, especially in complex systems support and implementation
* Proven track record of working successfully in large‐scale financial systems environments
Other Requirements
* Must be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
* Contract role until June 2027 with 12 months extension option
* Hybrid options (3 days in office and 2 days in WFH)
