What You Will Be Doing
As a casual Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and coordinate specimen samples, delivering great customer service and quality healthcare. Hours vary based on clinic need, with a roster that includes Monday–Friday and potential weekend work.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
- Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
- Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times
- Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
- Liaising with customers, clinic staff and couriers
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or have gained a Cert III and be starting your Pathology Collection career. A Registered Nurse seeking a shift pattern with regular daytime casual shifts is also welcome.
No experience in Pathology Collection but with a customer service focus and a healthcare background? We can support you to grow by providing fully paid training and mentoring. Bring the right attitude and interest, and we will provide the rest.
These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:
- Experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy / Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare background
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with empathy
- Organised with strong time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously, sometimes in a solo clinic
- Valid Driver's license and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
- Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain one
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency, or NZ citizen, or valid visa to work
- Ability to work across a range of hours
- Vaccine-preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B may be required; other vaccinations based on location may be required
