Job Description:
The Director of Medical Imaging is responsible for leading the imaging department and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the medical imaging service. They work in conjunction with other leaders to manage the operational and strategic directions of the service.
High-level strategic leadership and direction regarding medical imaging services, including clinical governance, professional matters, network development and service integration are key aspects of this role.
* Undertakes a clinical load with a portfolio of non-clinical work such as research, education, clinical governance and other required work.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A minimum of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant field is essential.
* Registration with the relevant agency is also required.
* Candidates must provide certified copies of requested proof of identity documents for the purposes of general Criminal history and National Police Certificate checks.
* Declaration of any current, criminal or significant previous disciplinary proceedings or restrictions on clinical practice is necessary.
* Experience and capacity in providing medical imaging education programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels is highly desirable.
* Participation in research relating to evidence-based practice in medical imaging medicine is also beneficial.
* Highly developed communication, collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills are essential.
* Knowledge and understanding of contemporary human resource management principles and financial planning and budgeting skills are required.
