About the Role

Reporting to the WA Regional Manager, we are seeking an experienced and highly driven Operations Manager to lead our Goldfields operations, based in Leonora.

This critical leadership role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of lifting and logistics services across the region. You will oversee operational performance, lead and develop your workforce, ensure strong customer relationships, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

* Own the P&L for Goldfields operations - drive revenue, control costs, and hit margin targets.
* Lead a team of Supervisors, Leading Hands, and operational crews; develop capability and hold performance.
* Oversee all crane and rigging activities across depot and active sites, maintaining safety and operational standards.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key Goldfields clients; resolve issues proactively and grow the account.
* Collaborate with customers on lift studies, scopes of work, and complex operational solutions.
* Ensure full compliance with Boom's safety standards, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure operational delivery meets contractual requirements, KPIs, and service-level expectations.
* Ensure compliance with customer site requirements, statutory obligations, and Boom's internal governance frameworks.
* Lead workforce planning, roster management, crew allocation, and resource optimisation.
* Report accurately on operational performance, utilisation, and financials to the WA Regional Manager.
* Drive continuous improvement - identify inefficiencies, champion safety initiatives, and embed best practice.
* Ensure administrative tasks—timesheets, payroll approvals, rosters, training records, and documentation—are completed accurately and on time.
* Maintain operational readiness through strong planning, scheduling, and resource management.

Roster & Location

Based in Leonora.

FIFO from Perth.

If you have done remote operations before and know the value of a tight-knit team with genuine ownership of their work, this environment will suit you well.

What you will bring – Essential

* Proven leadership experience in crane, rigging, or lifting operations (essential).
* High Risk Work licence (Rigging or Crane Operation) or equivalent operational ticketing.
* Demonstrated track record managing safe operations and promoting a strong safety culture.
* Strong commercial acumen - comfortable reading a P&L and managing to budget.
* Excellent client-facing skills; able to build trust, handle escalations, and grow relationships.
* Strong communication and organisational skills; comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.

* Familiarity with ERP or fleet management systems.
* Cert IV in Training & Assessment.
