Job Title

Nursing professionals with advanced clinical knowledge and leadership skills are sought to join our multidisciplinary team in the Special Care Nursery at North Canberra Hospital.


About the Role

The successful candidates will provide exceptional maternal care, working closely with midwives, medical staff, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

* Provide advanced clinical care to neonates in the Special Care Nursery, utilizing expert practice knowledge and experience to lead a collaborative team.
* Develop and implement Performance Development Plans for less experienced staff members, fostering a culture of growth and professional development.
* Take responsibility for own professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and research.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to established standards and protocols.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
* Conduct regular rounds and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
* Develop and maintain relationships with families and caregivers, ensuring comprehensive support and education.
* Stay current with regulatory requirements and updates, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the ACT or equivalent.
* Demonstrated expertise in neonatal care and management.
* Leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to coach and guide others.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor under pressure.
