Randstad is partnering with a leading electrical company to find a skilled and qualified Communications & Data Technician to join their team in Nerang on the Gold Coast. This is a permanent opportunity working on a significant and critical defence contract.
We are seeking an experienced individual who possesses strong knowledge in communications and data infrastructure, coupled with their electrical trade qualifications, to contribute to the successful delivery of this important project. Your ability to bridge these two essential skill sets will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communications and data cabling and infrastructure within a defence environment.
Ensuring all work is performed to relevant electrical standards and regulations.
Configuring and testing data and communication systems.
Collaborating with other trades and project stakeholders.
Adhering to strict security protocols and procedures.
Key Requirements:
Open Cablers Registration.
Unrestricted Electrical License
Australian Government Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
Demonstrated strong knowledge and experience in general communications and data work (e.g. structured cabling, networking basics, data termination).
Exposure to CommScope is highly regarded.
Previous experience working on defence contracts is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be an Australian citizen and have a clear criminal record to obtain defence clearance.
