About the role
The Team Leader, Engagement and Capability Building manages and leads a small team and reports to the Manager, Child Safe Programs. The Team Leader fosters a collaborative approach leading the team of engagement officers to work with sectors and organisations to increase engagement with the Child Safe
Standards, enhancing awareness, building capability, and embedding quality child safe practices across NSW.
We are seeking a leader to:
* Manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders with diverse interests and needs, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and achieve intended outcomes.
* Support the delivery of a responsive, ongoing engagement and capability building program of work, overseeing, and participating in the roll out of targeted activities to support increased engagement.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sectors and organisations, to enhance their understanding and implementation of the Child Safe Standards, using various resources and communication to promote compliance and best practice
Key knowledge and experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating with diverse audiences, as well as influence and negotiation skills.
* Excellent project planning and management including projects involving a range of inputs, contributors and stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to build and sustain cohesive and effective teams, maximising performance at an individual and team level.
* Demonstrate strategic thinking in planning, design, development, and deployment of new processes and identify opportunities for enhancements to existing processes.
* Have an interest in improving policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in New South Wales.
Essential Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent knowledge and workplace experience including ongoing professional development.
* All roles associated with the Office of the Children's Guardian are required to have a current Working with Children Check.
* Employment at the Office of the Children's Guardian is subject to the satisfactory completion of security and vetting checks.
* The role also requires a current driver's licence as there is travel associated with this role.
