The ADF Health Services team is responsible for providing integrated and seamless end-to-end health support to 85,000 ADF personnel across 50+ facilities. This includes a range of health services such as primary and occupational healthcare, dental, physiotherapy, mental health and psychology services, pharmacy, occupational rehabilitation, health administration, pathology, imaging and radiology, vocational rehabilitation, hospital, specialist, allied health, patient transport, and other off-base services enabled by Bupa systems.
What’s your role?
As the General Manager, Projects and Performance, you will be responsible for driving innovation, operational excellence, and strategic change across ADF Health Services operations and performance. This position oversees the development and implementation of transformation strategies, sets standards for best practices, and manages initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of ADF Health Services.
The General Manager leads the creation and execution of a comprehensive roadmap for change, leveraging data-driven insights to foster a culture of continuous improvement. They play a key role in collaborating with senior leadership to align and deliver transformation efforts with the Department's goals, ensuring the optimisation of service delivery, resource utilisation, stakeholder experience, and overall performance. This role will also lead the provision of performance insights for the business, including reporting to various internal and external stakeholders.

What will your day involve?
Establishing and overseeing a centre of excellence and transformation methodologies, processes, and templates to enable consistent best practices.
Overseeing the execution and adoption of strategic transformation initiatives aligned with ADF Health Services objectives.
Leading cross-functional teams including strategists, analysts, change and project managers, and experience designers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Engaging with department leadership to understand business needs and translating them into effective program and design solutions.
Defining transformation success metrics and overseeing measurement and reporting.
Collaborating with SMEs to prepare briefings and submissions internally and externally.
Managing the identification and implementation of efficiencies for reporting, and proactively driving analysis and insights to improve decision-making.
Overseeing journey mapping and service model development to enable optimal experience and performance.
What will you bring?
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field (postgraduate degree is highly regarded).
Certifications in change management, project management, or process improvement methodologies preferred.
10+ years of experience in business transformation or a related field.
Proven track record in leading complex transformation and change initiatives, including managing budgets and resources.
Experience managing critical projects in medium to large complex organisations.
Expertise in strategic planning, execution, change management, and experience design.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Strong stakeholder collaboration skills across various levels and units.
