This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency. Esperance Senior High School (SHS) is a school with a strong community that creates opportunities for personal excellence. The Role

If you are an enthusiastic team player who is committed to student success, we strongly encourage you to apply. Teachers with ATAR English teaching experience are strongly encouraged to apply, as are those with aspirations to develop their skillset in this space.

The ideal teacher will be highly organised, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with both staff and students.

You are not alone on this journey. The ideal candidate will be welcomed into a highly organised and supportive team of 10. English course coordinators will support your curriculum resourcing and assessment planning needs, whilst our dedicated teaching and learning team will assist with lesson design, mentoring and classroom management (where appropriate). Ongoing professional learning aligned to your professional development goals will be provided on a regular basis in the form of conferences, workshops and seminars.

We are looking for a highly committed, adaptable and collaborative individual who actively participates in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflects on their teaching practice. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Head of Department to lead improvements in pedagogy and programming across Year 7 to 12 and to achieve set targets in the School Business Plan and the English Department’s Operational Plan.

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
