The Senior Lawyer, FAR Advisory role offers an opportunity to become a leading legal expert within ANZ on the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR). The role will work closely with senior stakeholders and provide strategic legal advice on exposure to and compliance with FAR, contributing to the creation of a FAR centre of expertise within Legal & Corporate Governance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Legal, FAR Advisory, you will provide legal advice on compliance by ANZ Group accountable entities (AEs) and accountable persons (APs) with their FAR obligations, the design and implementation of FAR governance frameworks, the breach reporting process and related regulatory engagement.

Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the FAR legal strategy: Working with the Head of Legal, FAR Advisory, develop a strategic and holistic approach to managing legal risk in relation to FAR, including the legal support model for ANZ Group AEs and APs, identifying and managing potential breach issues, and related regulatory engagement.
2. Providing legal support to the FAR Governance team: Provide day to day legal support to the FAR Governance team, including legal advice on FAR Act requirements and interaction with other legal obligations.
3. Strategic legal support to APs and AEs: Providing legal advice on reasonable steps and other aspects of FAR obligations as needed, to support AEs and APs and their teams.
4. Legal advice on FAR breach management and reporting: Provide day to day legal advice on the identification, triage, investigation and reporting of any potential FAR breaches.
5. Continuous improvements: Keep up to date with changes in law or regulatory expectations and advise the FAR Governance team on changes to processes that are needed.
What You Will Bring
* Legally qualified, with strong legal experience in banking regulation and/or regulatory investigations.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior executives.
