Payroll Leadership Opportunity
This is an exciting chance to take ownership of payroll operations and drive transformation in a dynamic organization. As a Payroll Manager, you will lead a high-performing team and foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The role involves end-to-end payroll management for a medium-to-large workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. You will oversee fortnightly cycles, superannuation, PAYG, deductions, and leave entitlements.
You will also be responsible for driving the transition to in-house payroll, including system optimization and process redesign. Additionally, you will act as a subject matter expert on payroll legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
A key aspect of this role is leading payroll audits, internal controls, and risk mitigation strategies. You will partner with Finance and People teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning.
To succeed in this position, you will need to champion innovation by improving payroll systems and integrating new technology. You will also maintain strong stakeholder relationships and deliver exceptional service to leaders and employees.
Requirements:
* 10+ years' experience managing payroll in a medium-to-large organisation.
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
* Proven leadership experience with a track record of team development and service excellence.
* Payroll systems expertise, ideally Chris21/iChris, plus strong Microsoft Office skills.
* A relevant qualification in HR, Finance, or a related field (postgraduate study is a plus).
* Banking/finance industry knowledge is desirable but not essential.
