Over the past 30 years, Safetech has been responsible for many product innovations and is recognized as a market leader in the design and production of lifting solutions.We currently have a career opening for an experienced, suitably qualified, and capable Design Engineer to join our engineering team, which includes mechanical, civil, electrical, and controls engineers designing and processing products for a diverse customer base.This role will include working at our Morwell and Moe locations.Our engineers are team-oriented and comfortable working with customers or assisting Safetech manufacturing and installation staff.
Innovative thinking and leadership are encouraged, with opportunities to develop and implement new ideas welcomed.Responsibilities include:Design, modify, and improve standard and bespoke products to customer requirements, ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiency.Develop new products, track design changes, and document implementations.Collaborate with production, marketing, and sales to reduce costs, optimize designs, and enhance product functionality.Provide technical support to production, service, and installation teams, including troubleshooting, documentation, and quality control.Assist marketing and sales with custom design quotes, including customer liaison, specification determination, cost estimation, and proposal drawings.Gain market insights by working closely with sales, service, and customers, including participation in site visits and installations.Identify and implement cost-saving and product improvement initiatives through value engineering and risk assessments (DFMEA).Apply best practices in 3D CAD design, utilizing parametric modeling for efficiency.Adhere to engineering KPIs and promote a "one team, one goal" mindset to maximize customer value.The successful applicants will possess:Minimum 3 years experience in a related field.Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering qualification from a reputable organization.Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor.Experience with Vault PDM.General knowledge of Australian Standards.Experience with structural calculations for mechanical equipment is highly favorable.FEA experience using Nastran or Strand7 is favorable.Safetech is an equal opportunity employer.
