The Role
As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership at a secure defence facility, ensuring safe, high-quality care for all patients. You will be a role model, guiding daily workflows, upholding safety standards, and supporting team members. This role suits experienced nurses who thrive in fast-paced settings, champion patient safety, and foster effective teamwork and efficient clinic operations.
Key Duties
- Deliver routine, urgent, and emergency care for all staff onsite.
- Triage patients, offering clinical advice and prioritising care needs.
- Complete health checks, perform and interpret ECGs, draw blood, and collect samples.
- Handle patient records, lab reports, and manage correspondence efficiently.
- Respond rapidly and decisively to emergency situations in the workplace.
- Oversee sterile processes and maintain standards in all clinical utility areas.
- Guide, support, and evaluate junior nursing staff and contribute to training.
- Manage the administrative and operational needs of the clinics.
- Liaise with key stakeholders including the Government Contract Officer Technical Representative.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and excellent patient service in all activities.

Requirements
- Unconditional Registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- At least five years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum three years in a senior, supervisory, or managerial nursing role.
- Strong clinical expertise and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control protocols.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and patient care skills.
- Current ALS and CPR certification.
- Position is fully onsite in Alice Springs.
