Job Overview
Maintenance technicians play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance of complex electronic systems. As a sensor maintenance technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing radar, AIS, radio, camera, and command and control systems.
Main Responsibilities:
* Diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently, including participation in an on-call roster
* Building, configuring, calibrating, and testing systems before deployment
* Maintaining accurate service reports and configuration records
* Supporting installation and commissioning of new systems
* Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and documentation
About You:
To excel in this role, you will need to possess trade qualifications or practical experience in electrical fields. Additionally, strong experience with trade defence knowledge and practical experience with complex electronic systems within a defence, maritime, utilities, or resources environment is essential.
Required Skills:
* Trade qualifications or practical experience in electrical fields
* Strong experience with trade defence knowledge and practical experience with complex electronic systems
* Candidates with experience with radar, AIS, radio (VHF, UHF, DMR), camera, or command and control systems are preferred
* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
* A focus on safety, documentation, and teamwork
* Highly developed communications skills, including the ability to effectively liaise with a range of employees and clients
* Flexibility to travel to regional or remote sites and take part in the on-call roster
* Confidence to work at heights up to 50m once completing work at heights and tower rescue training
