Lead the design and visual strategy for one of the Australian Government's most important public digital reports in a high-profile national role.

Our client is a highly respected Australian Government agency responsible for driving digital transformation and setting best-practice standards across government. Role Overview

The Content Strategist (Design and Visual Communication Lead) will lead the design and visual communication strategy for a major annual public report that increases transparency and accountability of large-scale government digital projects. This role will work closely with senior executives and multidisciplinary teams to translate complex policy and reporting requirements into engaging, accessible, and referenceable digital and visual content.

You are a highly skilled content strategist and design lead with a passion for turning complex information into clear, compelling visual communication. You thrive in fast-paced, high-profile environments and are comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders under tight deadlines.

You bring a strong balance of strategic thinking, creative execution, and stakeholder engagement, with the confidence to lead design direction while collaborating across diverse technical and policy teams.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead the design and visual communication strategy for a major public-facing government report.
* Translate complex policy principles and reporting requirements into clear, accessible, and engaging design outputs.
* Design and develop reporting artefacts suitable for multiple audiences, including Ministerial and public stakeholders.
* Work closely with senior executives to understand urgent requirements and deliver high-quality outputs to tight deadlines.
* Produce prototypes and final design products aligned with accessibility standards and government design consistency.
* Ensure all products align with previous publications while improving clarity, usability, and public accessibility.
* Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including policy, digital, data, and communications specialists.


Skills, Knowledge and Experience

* Demonstrated experience in content strategy, visual communication, or design leadership roles.
* Proven ability to translate complex information into clear, structured, and accessible content.
* Strong experience designing public-facing digital or report-based communication products.
* High-level stakeholder engagement skills, including working directly with senior executives.
* Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
* Strong understanding of accessibility, usability, and best-practice digital design standards.
* Excellent written and visual communication skills.
* Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance (mandatory).
* Australian Citizens only.
* ACT or NSW based.
