Role Description
Step Off the Tools and into Engineering Support
Bring your hands-on trade experience into a role where you'll directly support production teams and trades with practical, real-world engineering advice. You'll stay close to the action on the shop floor while building your technical knowledge and understanding of design requirements.
Please note this role does require onsite presence at Osborne.

Core Duties
Review reported issues and conduct technical investigations, including root cause analysis and engineering assessments within your area of expertiseLiaise with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather insights on affected systems and equipment, supporting informed decision-makingDeliver engineering analysis and recommendations to the Technical Authority to ensure the as-built product aligns with design intentAct as a key communication link between Production and the broader business, supporting effective issue management processes
Essential Skills
A trade certificate or diploma qualificationStrong attention to detailClear and confident communication skillsAbility to read and interpret detailed design, fabrication, or assembly drawingsA proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, adapt, and develop new skillsHolds, or is eligible to obtain, a Baseline Defence security clearance
The Hunter Class Frigate Team
The Hunter Class Frigate Program is comprised of various teams all with the same goal – to build the 6 new Frigates for the Royal Australian Navy. The Production Engineering Support team are part of the broader program working to deliver production engineering outcomes
