**Position Information**:
Tacoma Public School is located on the Central Coast of New South Wales. It is situated in a semi-rural setting above the northern bank of the Wyong River. The school acknowledges the Darkinjung people as traditional custodians of the land on which our school is built and our children learn on, each school day. The current enrolment is 199 students with 36 Aboriginal students in 9 mainstream classes. An extremely dedicated team of staff work together to maximise educational outcomes for all students.
At Tacoma Public School, students are valued as individuals and staff are committed to providing self-reflective, quality teaching and learning experiences. We deliver curriculum through both inquiry-based and explicit teaching pedagogy. Although a relatively small school, Tacoma Public School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities for students such as chess club, sporting teams, dance groups, choir and lunchtime creative groups. The school receives additional funding for equity programs and implements major initiatives focusing on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes, student well-being and ensures it is equipped with future-focused learning opportunities.
Tacoma Public School highly values its strong links with Ngara Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and promotes cultural acknowledgement of Aboriginal families through an inclusive learning environment, daily programs and special events. The school has strong alliances with the Wyong and Wadalba Learning Communities and values the rich opportunities for staff and students, including professional learning, strong transition programs and learning days. We celebrate our cultural and community diversity every day. The school P&C works closely with the school to enhance the learning opportunities for all students. It actively supports existing programs, in addition to running the school canteen and uniform shop.

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and primary:
Demonstrated capacity to implement current curriculum changes and experience in leading a collaborative team to improve student learning outcomes for K-6 students.
A deep understanding of current research in leading innovative and effective practice and pedagogies in the early school years that maximise student engagement and learning.
An understanding and genuine commitment to authentic partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families and community.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain quality relationships within the school and the wider community._

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
