As part of this role, you will sit in the car with the young driver and assist in logging the 120 hours of supervised driving required to sit the test.In addition, you will provide constructive feedback, model respectful communication, patience, and clear boundaries. Volunteer Mentors have a strong ability to demonstrate empathy, consistency, reliability and promote safe and stable relationships.Volunteers are intrinsic to the success of the program and participant; they will be providing much needed on-going support and mentorship to program participants. To help set volunteers up for success, they will be provided with extensive and necessary training, on-going support and become a valued member of the team. The Salvation Army will also provide a fully equipped vehicle for driving sessions with the young driver.Volunteering with The Salvation Army is a great opportunity to actively support one of Australia's largest not-for-profit organisations.
