Job Description
As an Aboriginal Case Manager, you play a pivotal role in supporting community safety and rehabilitation. Your primary focus is on engaging with the Aboriginal community to support clients while fostering a culture of inclusivity.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community, both socially and culturally, as well as experience in effective case management practices. You must be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the community, modelling pro-social behaviours to motivate and influence individuals who are being case managed.
About the Role
This role prioritizes the recruitment of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, offering priority consideration under the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act. The successful candidate will develop and implement cultural support plans for Aboriginal clients, working closely with justice networks to strengthen case management outcomes.
To succeed in this position, you must possess strong communication skills, empathy, and an ability to work with complex individuals. Assertiveness and confidence when dealing with challenging behaviour are essential qualities.
