The Claims Treatment Specialist Pharmacy role is a full-time, 12-month contract based in Sydney or Newcastle with the option to work from home up to 3 days per week.
The role sits within EML’s Nominal Insurer (NI) portfolio and involves advising on medication, communicating with injured workers and doctors, and collaborating with prescribers to ensure secure and appropriate treatment, particularly for high-risk medications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise medication and treatment management.
- Assess high-risk medication use and provide clinical opinions on treatment strategies.
- Liaise with treatment providers to negotiate medication types, dosages, and utilisation.
- Educate injured workers, employers, and stakeholders on medication use and risks.
- Identify the need for and refer to external services like Pharmacy Reviews or Independent Medical Examinations.
- Provide training and support to operational team members on medication management best practices.
About You
- A bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy is essential for this role.
- Current registration in the professional field.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical practice.
- Well-established knowledge of disability and injury management best practice.
- Understanding and experience in the personal injury industry; knowledge of workers compensation legislation is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
