We Are Homeland School CompanyHomeland School Company (HSC) Limited is an Aboriginal-owned organisation working to establish independent schools on the Djelk Indigenous Protected Area in Arnhem Land.
Guided by local community leadership, and grounded in cultural authority, HSC’s place-based learning begins with Country and is sustained through relationships, hands-on practice and seasonal cycles. Complementing the National Curriculum, this supports homelands students to build cultural identity, practical ecological expertise, and the literacy and numeracy needed to navigate broader education and employment pathways.
With its first school at Gamardi now registered and key government funding secured, HSC is entering a new phase, with additional schools, enabling infrastructure and local employment pathways in development.

Build the Financial FoundationWe are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to play a central role in its next stage of growth.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead financial strategy, governance and systems.
This is not a traditional CFO role — you will be hands-on in building foundations while positioning the organisation for sustainable growth.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Leading financial strategy, modelling and planning aligned to organisational growthEstablishing financial systems, controls and reporting frameworks from the ground upOverseeing budgeting, forecasting, grants management and complianceProviding clear financial insights and advice to the CEO and BoardBuilding and leading a small finance and administration team over timeSupporting funding strategies, partnerships and long-term sustainability initiativesContributing to organisational decision-making in a dynamic, evolving environment
A CFO Who Can Build and GrowYou are a capable and adaptable financial leader who can operate across both detail and strategy.
You may already be a CFO, or stepping into your first CFO role, with the capability and mindset to grow with the organisation.
You will need tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce, along with CPA or CA (or equivalent). A minimum of senior-level financial leadership experience will also be essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:Experience working within not-for-profit or complex funding environmentsStrong knowledge of governance, compliance and risk managementExperience building systems, processes and financial frameworksExposure to Indigenous organisations or remote service delivery environmentsExperience supporting Boards and executive leadership teams
