Glencore Metals Australia are seeking a new team member to join the team, as a principal – Structural Integrity. This position has the flexibility to be offered on a residential or FIFO arrangement.

About the role:
Glencore Metals Australia is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to consolidate our Structural remediation programs across Glencore Metals Australia including Mount Isa, Townsville, Murrin Murrin and McArthur River Mine.
You will lead technical assessments, remediation planning and project delivery to ensure structural integrity and regulatory compliance across multiple operating sites.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinate the Structural Remediation Program end-to-end across Mount Isa, Townsville, Murrin Murrin and McArthur River. Lead structural condition assessments, inspections and risk evaluations for plant, buildings and infrastructure. Develop remediation scopes, engineering designs, specifications and cost estimates. Prioritise remediation activities based on risk, safety, operational impact and budget. Manage contractors and third-party specialists (tendering, scopes, quality assurance, HSE compliance). Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams to implement remedial works. Prepare technical reports, inspection records, design calculations and asset registers. Ensure works comply with relevant Australian standards, legislation and Glencore policies. Monitor program schedule, budget and performance; report progress to stakeholders. Support continuous improvement, asset lifecycle planning and risk mitigation initiatives.
About you:
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered status or working towards registration highly regarded. Minimum 5 years' experience in structural engineering, inspections and remediation in heavy industry, mining or processing environments. Proven experience managing multi-site programs and delivering contractor-led remediation works. Strong knowledge of Australian structural codes and standards (AS/NZS), welding and materials degradation mechanisms. Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and contractor management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills Current driver's licence and ability to obtain site-specific certifications and permits Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible on-site hours when required.
