accommodation and other allowance Location: Cohuna in North West Victoria Johville Park Farm require an experienced Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to join their team.
Located : Cohuna in North West Victoria.
(Excellent location only 10 mins to township which offers excellent schooling, shopping, medical and all modern facilities. School bus at front gate. 40 mins to Echuca).
Position is on established farm which is predominantly pasture based with flood irrigation.
Milking up to 600 cows with TMR for 4 months of the year.
The dairy is computerised with ACR's and the herd is fitted with Herd Insight Collars.
Automated calf rearing feed system.
Hours : full-time - up-to 38 hours per week but extra hours may be required depending on animal welfare needs.
Key Specifics : Must have a genuine interest in the dairy farming industry.
Previous experience is essential with this position.
Must have the ability to work as a team member and also individually.
High standards of work and animal welfare are targeted through attention to detail.
Required : Excellent knowledge and experience milk production / farming Ability to work in a team environment Exceptional organisation and communication skills Flood irrigation experience would be an advantage Competent with tractor operation / machinery (basic) Be highly self-motivated with a progressive attitude Demonstrate a neat and tidy appearance with attention to detail qualities Current Driver's Licence with reliable transport Role Responsibilities : Working with the owner and also independently, this position will involve: Assisting with milk harvesting 4 days per fortnight covering any leave Maintaining milk quality and assurance / mastitis treatments Assisting with calving down cows / post calving maintenance Operation of tractor / machinery / mixer wagon Assisting with irrigation / weed control / fencing / general maintenance We Offer : Attractive salary package ($70,000 - $80,000 per annum - competency based) Work / life balance with 10 day fortnight, however, during the busy calving season will be an 11 day fortnight 3 bedroom house provided on farm and other allowance Long term opportunity provided APPLY NOW through the application form.
