About Us
Meeka Metals Limited (MEK) is Western Australia's newest gold mine, and key to our success is securing an experienced Safety & Training Advisor - Processing to join our dynamic Team at our new flagship site – Murchison Gold Project, 50kms north of Meekatharra.
The project is a combined open pit and underground gold mining operation with an initial 10-year mine life.
About the Role
The Safety & Training Advisor - Processing reporting into the Health & Safety Superintendent and will play a critical role in building our Safety & training systems to ensure alignment with industry best practice with a focus on continual improvement and development of our employees.
The role is offered on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and management systems to ensure compliance with legislative and company standards.
* Conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.
* Providing expert HSE advice, training, and support to site personnel, fostering a strong safety culture across all operations.
* Leading incident investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
* Monitoring HSE performance, facilitating toolbox talks and safety inductions, and collaborating with project teams to proactively manage risks will be key aspects of your responsibilities.
* Maintaining accurate HSE records and engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and client representatives, to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
* Deliver hands on training programs to employees
* Assessing employee's skills and conduction verifications of competencies.
* Collaborating with site leadership team to identify safety and training needs, implement improvements, and monitor the effectiveness of safety programs.
About You
* 3+ years of HSE experience in a processing/mining environment.
* Tertiary qualification in WHS, OHS, or similar (essential).
* Cert IV in Training & Assessing (essential).
* Accredited WorkSafe high risk assessor (preferred).
* Lead Auditor.
* ICAM incident investigation.
* Strong knowledge of safety management systems, risk management, and behavioural safety.
* Strong knowledge of Gold processing plant operations.
* High-level of communication and interpersonal skills.
* Eager to grow, take on feedback, and enhance knowledge through training.
* Valid C Western Australian Drivers Licence.
* Senior First Aid Certificate.
* Valid National Police Clearance (
