About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is now available to join the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager within our Mental Health Short Stay Unit (MHSSU). This role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic and supportive environment dedicated to delivering high-quality mental health care.

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health care. You will uphold strong practice standards, support safe delegation, and guide less experienced staff, working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure compassionate, consistent and person-centred care for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.

You will also help drive continuity of care and support service improvements by collaborating with fellow ANUMs and the Nurse Unit Manager. Your involvement in staffing, rostering, performance processes and daily operational management will help create a stable, responsive and supportive environment - one that directly enhances the experience and recovery journey of every mental health patient who enters the unit.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice

About You:

To be successful in this role, you bring strong interpersonal and communication skills that enable effective problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation, including the confidence to engage in difficult conversations while maintaining positive working relationships. You work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities with professionalism and minimal supervision. Your creativity, flexibility and innovative approach support effective responses to challenges within the healthcare setting. With at least three years of post-registration experience, you demonstrate competence aligned with professional standards and have experience supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses and early-career registered nurses.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your leadership journey and contribute to a service that makes a real difference in mental health care, we invite you to apply today.
