Exciting opportunities are available for a Registered Nurse with experience in Urology who is motivated to join the Urology Clinic at a private hospital in Melbourne.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Registered Nurse, you will be supporting our Urological Consultants and ward staff, and your responsibilities will include:
- Flow rates, residuals, continence education, passage of sounds (surgeon in attendance for males);
- Providing evidence-based nursing care;
- Driving clinical outcomes;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Pre-operative and post-operative visits to patients post major urological surgery;
- Trial of Voids, wound checks, staple or stitch removals, catheter changes as well as hormone and Firmagon injections;
- Delivering education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end-of-life needs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Working with Children check;
- Specialty nursing experience - minimum 2 years of experience in Urology;
- Proven track record in providing clinical direction in Urology;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Ability to work well independently and within a team;
- Ability to problem solve and work within a changing setting.
REMUNERATION
A salary ranges between $34.22 - $48.32 per hour, based on your years of relevant nursing experience.

The hospital, located in southeastern Melbourne, is a state-of-the-art 147-bed hospital, comprising a 24/7 Emergency Department, 6-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 9-bed specialized Coronary Care Unit (CCU), 12 bay Day Infusion Unit and 5 specialized inpatient units.
