About the role
This role is responsible for delivering productivity gains and the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices through cross-functional process improvements, ensuring waste reduction, quality improvement and sustainable performance. The role will be based predominantly at the Thomastown site but will require travelling to other Melbourne sites on occasions.
In this role you will:
* Implement WCM Program at site: Work closely with operations management to develop and implement the WCM Roadmap, audit & assess progress against the plan, while developing and implementing standardised processes leading to sustained improvement.
* Develop KPIs & benchmarking data: Establish KPIs & benchmarking data to capture relevant performance metrics, enabling analysis of losses and the development of various opportunities for efficiency, quality, safety and sustainability improvements.
* Lead WCM projects & problem-solving initiatives: Work closely with cross functional teams to implement improvement projects & initiatives, consistent with Lean or WCM principles, to deliver measurable improvement within the business.
* Provide Coaching and Site Support: Act as a site coach supporting the implementation of WCM tools, processes and practices. Assist in the administration of the WCM system using tools such as Project Tracking software and other relevant systems supporting the program.
What you bring to the role
* Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in engineering plus ideally experience in production or maintenance.
* Lean & Continuous Improvement: Proficient in Lean principles, including 5S, SMED or other operational improvement methodologies.
* Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse complex processes, identify root causes and recommend effective solutions using qualitative and quantitative data.
* Adaptability: Able to adapt to evolving project needs and process changes using a continuous improvement mindset. Willingness to learn new techniques and methods.
* Collaboration & Influencing outcomes: Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to influence and embed process change.
* Advanced Manufacturing Systems Knowledge: Knowledgeable of manufacturing systems such as Total Productive Maintenance and Root Cause Analysis with the purpose of improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness. A knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies while not essential, will be highly regarded.
