The Opportunity
This is a significant opportunity to project manage organisation-wide initiatives that advance cultural safety, equity and self-determination for First Nations peoples across Western Victoria.
As Project Manager – RAP & Cultural Respect, you will:
* Lead the implementation of WVPHN’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
* Conduct a comprehensive RAP gap analysis and guide reporting to the ELT, Board and Reconciliation Australia.
* Audit, review and embed the Cultural Respect Framework (CRF) across policies, systems, capability development and organisational culture.
* Establish and facilitate a RAP Working Group grounded in cultural governance and community partnerships
* Build strong partnerships, respectful relationships with ACCOs, Elders and First Nations communities
* Champion culturally safe practice and co-design approaches across the organisation.
This role suits a values-driven project leader passionate about reconciliation, cultural respect and creating meaningful, lasting change in the primary health care system.
Key Selection Criteria (KSCs)
Essential:
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations or cultural governance structures
* Experience leading RAPs or cultural safety frameworks
* Demonstrated experience delivering strategic or complex projects (cultural safety, reconciliation, community engagement or health sector reform preferred)
* Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and contemporary issues
* High-level communication, facilitation and relationship building skills, including working with Elders and ACCOs
* Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within timeframes
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
Desirable:
* Identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
* Experience in health, community services or primary care sectors
* Experience facilitating working groups or governance groups
* Project management training (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
* Strong Microsoft Office and information management skills
Employment requirements
· Be prepared to undergo a National Police Check, prior to appointment
· A current Victorian driver’s licence
· Working rights in Australia (visa, permanent resident, citizen)
