We are hiring for a Senior Network Engineer - EL1 Level & Senior Network Administrator - APS6 Level for one of our Federal Clients.

Role: Senior Network Engineer - EL1 Level & Senior Network Administrator - APS6

Location of work: Canberra (Onsite)

Contract duration: 12 months + 24 months extension.

Security clearance: PV security clearance (are only eligible)

Job details

Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.

The Network Engineer (NTDS 5) will under broad direction from the Commonwealth be responsible for activities related to the design, build, test, and operation of ICT systems and network services to support modern mobility solutions for senior government officials. Project activities include expanding existing network, computing systems, complex gateway services, cloud services, and secure mobility solutions.

Key duties and responsibilities

* Lead the design, build, test, and operation of network services in a multi-vendor environment.
* Conduct requirement traceability and prioritization activities, and assess the feasibility of requirements to support system design.
* Plan configuration, implementation, automation, and testing of enterprise gateway environments, ensuring security policy compliance.
* Assist in developing, supporting, and managing monitoring systems for networks.
* Implement, configure, and maintain switches, routers, and firewalls in a multi-vendor environment, including leading change activities.

Technical skills

Experience in operating and managing gateway environments. Experience automating networks through Infrastructure as Code.

Network Administrator Key duties and responsibilities

Network Administrators implement, manage, and retire infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking, and cloud) supporting digital services.

Under broad direction from the Commonwealth, they are responsible for activities related to the design, build, test, and operation of ICT systems and network services to support modern mobility solutions for senior government officials. Project activities include expanding network infrastructure and complex gateway services for secure mobility.

Key duties and responsibilities

* Consolidate legacy networks onto the current ASD baseline architecture through configuration, implementation, documentation, and post-installation activities.
* Perform network installations according to detailed design documentation and guidance.
* Operate and troubleshoot network hardware, including switches, routers, firewalls, gateways, and wireless equipment (e.g., Palo-Alto, SILICONROAD).
* Handle TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP network tasks.
* Monitor enterprise proxy and load balancing systems, with experience across different systems and architectures.
* Utilize automation tools such as Ansible and Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator to sustain networks.
* Provide second-level incident support for the ASD Deployed Top Secret Network environment supporting Defence Intelligence Agencies and other clients.
