Our client is a well-known global trading and logistics company, located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, offering a diverse range of products and services, and is recognized as one of the global leaders in the trading industry. We are seeking a Sales Manager with proven experience in sales and logistics to join our client's team.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities and duties of the role:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients through effective communication and negotiation.
Apply hands-on experience in warehouse operations and domestic logistics management.
Understand the end-to-end logistics process—including warehouse handling and transport flow—and prepare accurate and competitive quotations.
Build effective logistics solutions tailored to client needs and support new business development.
Analyze logistics data to identify issues, improve efficiency, and support operational and commercial decision-making.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective account management and proactive communication.
Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities including planning, scheduling, and operational execution.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (warehouse, transport, operations, finance) to deliver seamless 3PL services.
Provide basic support for export/import coordination when required, such as checking shipment details or liaising with partners.
Your Profile
Ideal Candidate Profile:
A strong background in logistics or 3PL operations is required.
Ability to understand client needs, identify opportunities, and propose practical logistics solutions.
Strong analytical skills for reviewing data, preparing quotations, and understanding cost structures.
Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to think independently, take initiative, and contribute ideas within a newly established team.
Freight forwarding knowledge or experience is an advantage.
