Overview
The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Service is located in the Sutherland Shire (the Shire), Caringbah. The Sutherland Hospital is a major metropolitan hospital and teaching hospital. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services with 375 beds and a busy Emergency Department.
The role
The Human Resources Consultant provides a range of customer service, administrative and Human Resources support services to enable the provision of high-level detailed advice, guidance and support in People and Culture processes and business functions. The role contributes to the development and implementation of People & Culture initiatives and interventions to address people management issues and achieve the goals of the People and Culture Strategy.

Selection Criteria
* Sound knowledge of the legislative and regulative requirements relating to human resources management and industrial/employee relations, and the ability to provide practical advice on People & Culture matters.
* Demonstrated ability to identify significant People & Culture issues and communicate their business implications/risks; able to contribute to innovative policies, strategies and initiatives.
* Tertiary level qualifications in Human Resource Management, Commerce/Business, Psychology or equivalent workplace experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
* Ability to work independently with limited direction, manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to consult with stakeholders, including management, staff, industrial organisations and external agencies.
* Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to prepare briefs, reports and submissions.
* Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to use data to provide insights and support decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Willingness to travel within the District as required by the position.
