Position Information
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world‐class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non‐government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
About the Role
The School Administrative Manager is responsible for the efficient management of school financial and administrative systems, and for supervising and training school administration officers. The role supports school activities and routines, including student welfare and wellbeing, working with the school principal, the school executive and teaching staff as required.
Essential Requirements
* Working with Children Check clearance
* First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training
* Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs
About Wauchope High School
Wauchope High School is a comprehensive, co‐educational secondary school located on Birpai Country within the Macleay Valley network on the Mid North Coast. Serving a largely rural community, the school enrols approximately 450 students. The school delivers a broad and inclusive curriculum, with strong programs in all subject areas, particularly Agriculture, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE). Facilities include a school farm, trade training centre and commercial kitchens. Vocational Education and Training (VET) and School‐Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) pathways are supported through strong partnerships with local industry. In 2026 the school was recognised for sustained growth in HSC achievement over a seven‐year period.
Aboriginal students represent 23% of the school community, and the school is proud of its strong focus on cultural connection, identity and language. Wauchope High School works closely with Macleay Valley partner primary schools to deliver transition programmes that strengthen continuity of learning and support a successful transition to high school.

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Capacity to supervise staff
* Demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative, organise resources and meet deadlines
* Demonstrated ability to undertake financial and accounting responsibilities including use of computerised financial/administrative systems
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to manage an office
* Ability to interact with school staff, students and members of the school community
* Knowledge of and commitment to the department's Aboriginal education policy
